DirectMailAmerica narrow MCP

Send one letter or one postcard, or mail to multiple recipients. This focused connection supports First-Class letters, Certified Mail, 5.5 × 4.25 inch single-sided postcards, 8.5 × 5.5 inch double-sided postcards and the wider print-and-mail catalog.

Connect with OAuth

Choose Connect account. On DirectMailAmerica’s secure authorization page, enter a workspace key from your Developers page. Never put the key in a chat or URL.
Grant read access, and optionally write and send access. OAuth uses authorization code with PKCE S256, dynamic client registration and tokens bound to this endpoint.
Run get_connection_status to check the workspace, environment and granted permissions.

Public discovery, product specifications and pricing work without an account. Private tools require OAuth; secure Bearer key configuration is also supported for MCP Inspector. Your client uses the revocable OAuth token, not the workspace key.

Preview, approve, send

For a letter or small postcard, use preview_letter to inspect the print PDF and exact quote. Then send_letter requires confirmed=true, matching approvedTotalCents, and an idempotencyKey reused for identical retries.

For a double-sided postcard or another catalog product, use get_product_catalog, quote_product, preview_product_quote, then send_product_quote with the saved quote ID and explicit confirmation. The double-sided postcard takes a landscape 8.5 × 5.5 inch front PDF plus either reverse text or a reverse PDF. Review the sender, every recipient, both sides, options and total before authorizing.

Mailing uses an existing workspace balance. Insufficient balance stops submission. Keep the same request key or quote ID after an uncertain result and check status before creating another order. A submitted order is not evidence of postal delivery.

Scope and safety

This profile exposes 20 tools. It has no account-funding, checkout, cryptocurrency, AI image-generation, inbox-automation, webhook or administrator operations. It can convert your existing image to a postcard PDF; that conversion does not generate new artwork.

Email to Letter, Email to Postcard, their rules and image generation remain available through the website and the full MCP profile. The separate OpenAI profile retains its existing service scope.

Browser requests must use an explicitly allowed Origin. https://claude.ai is supported by default; operators can configure additional trusted HTTPS origins. Invalid, opaque and lookalike origins receive HTTP 403. Server-to-server clients may omit Origin; OAuth or a workspace key is still required for private operations. Origin is not proof of identity.

Ordinary staging keys prevent real postage but still debit their workspace balance. Directory reviewers receive a separate test-only workspace, synthetic documents and test credits. Its lbl_test_ key is restricted to this endpoint, cannot access funding tools, and cannot create live mail. Request private review credentials from support; credentials are never published here.

Privacy and support

Tool calls use only supplied mailing content and the authorized workspace’s data. This connector does not request client conversation history or memory. Uploaded documents, addresses and order records are handled under our privacy policy. Disconnect in your client or revoke the workspace key to remove access.

Tool permissions and annotations

These values come directly from tools/list. Read-only tools do not change user content. Tools marked destructive can create, change, delete, submit or charge for data and require appropriate authorization. An annotation does not replace server-side authentication or mailing consent.
